LeTourneau softball fell to the reigning NCAA National Champions, UT Tyler Patriots, 0-9 on Friday night at the Joyce Family Athletic Village.
 
The Patriots, who outhit the Jackets 2-12, iced LETU's bats all night. UT Tyler's Kissinger recorded nine strikeouts in the first contest of the series.
 
Senior Whitney Judd and junior Ashlin Roach picked up the YellowJackets' two hits with singles in the third and fourth innings, respectively.
 
Sophomore Faith Genoway drops to 1-2 on the season, recording two strikeouts and giving up nine runs on 12 hits in five innings.
 
The YellowJackets, who are now 3-7 overall and 1-6 in conference play, look to turn it around when they continue their series with top ranked UT Tyler on Saturday. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 1 p.m.
