AUSTIN, Texas -- LeTourneau University men's soccer team lost to host Concordia Texas, 3-0, Saturday.
The YellowJackets fell to 2-5-2 overall, 0-2-0 in the American Southwest Conference. Concordia improved to 4-4-1, 2-0-0.
LeTourneau had eight shots, four on goal. Concordia finished with 22, including 11 on frame. YellowJackets goalkeeper
Diego Berlingeri stopped a season-high eight shots for the second straight game. Tornados keeper Erik Rodriguez made four saves.
Following a scoreless first half, the Tornados took a 1-0 lead in the 56th minute on Edgar Guerrero's goal. Bernabe Torres drew the assist. Concordia struck again 10 minutes later when Torres cashed in on a setup from Uly Torres-Martinez. Adrian Guerrero tacked on the third goal in the 71st minute on an assist from Marco Vazquez.
Luis De La Torre took four shots, including two on goal.
Russell Gray had two shots, one on frame.
Jared Woodruff had a shot on goal, and
Aksel Freeman also attempted a shot.
De La Torre ripped a shot 1:32 into the game, but Rodriguez made the save. De La Torre gave the Jackets another chance to get on the board in the 18th minute, but the Tornados keeper denied him again. Gray put a shot on net in the 22nd minute, but Rodriguez stopped it. LETU's final scoring chance came in the 64th minute when Woodruff ripped one on target, but Concordia's keeper stood tall again.
Berlingeri made four saves in each half.
The YellowJackets will host McMurry 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
