GEORGETOWN, Texas – LeTourneau University men's tennis team dropped both matches on Saturday. The YellowJackets (5-3) fell, 7-0, to Southwestern and 4-5 to Concordia.
In singles play against the Pirates (5-1),
Jimmie Henson and
Christian Farris lost to Hunter Bajoit and Hemanshu Rambojun, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles.
Nathan Schmidt and Rodrigo Vazquez-Chairez fell at the No. 2 position to Alexander Joseph and Dean Dulthummon, 8-2. In a tight No. 3 set,
Julian Lee and
Miles Grubbs fell to Alexis Dimanche and Carlos Esteban Rodero, 8-7 (7-4).
The Pirates kept the momentum for themselves as Henson fell to Dimanche, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 1 singles. Farris lost to Bajoit, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2. Schmidt fell to Joseph, 6-2, 6-2, at the No. 3 spot. Lee dropped his No. 4 singles match to Dulthummon, 6-2, 6-3. No. 5 Vazquez-Chairez lost to Steven Tibbetts, 6-1, 6-4.
The YellowJackets travelled to Austin to take on Concordia (2-1) for match two on the day.
The Jackets were up 2-1 after doubles play and looking strong.

Nathan Schmidt and Rodrigo Vazquez-Chairez fell to Jorge Garcia and Esteban Arredondo, 8-3, at the No. 2 position. At No. 3,

Miles Grubbs beat Adrian Munguia and Michael Davis, 8-4.
Jonah McGinty and
Gavin Meyer fell to Jacob Naiser and Mario Martinez, 8-6.
The Tornados took charge in doubles play. Henson fell to Heijden, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1 singles. Farris defeated Arredondo, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2. Lee fell to Davis, 6-4, 7-5, at the No. 3 spot. Schmidt bested his No. 4 singles opponent Garcia, 6-2, 6-4. No. 5 Vazquez-Chairez lost to O'Connor, 6-1, 6-4. Grubbs lost at No. 6 to Evan Pena Jr., 2-6, 7-5,7-5. Meyer fell to Martinez, 8-4.
