LONGVIEW, Texas – Unable to finish in the final third derailed the LeTourneau women's soccer team 4-0 Thursday at the Joyce Family Athletic Village.
The Yellowjackets drop to 2-10-1 overall and winless in six American Southwest Conference fixtures. UT Dallas improved to 9-5-0, 3-4-0.
Keely Fillman tallied two goals in the first 28 minutes, striking from point-blank range after precision passing from Sofia Munoz. Fillman beat her defender to a pass from Munoz, beating the goalkeeper low at the 9:45 mark and once again at 27:46.
LeTourneau placed four of its eight shots on frame, including two in 1 v. 1 situations between the attacker and the goalkeeper. Another pair of shots without the offensive player being marked clanked off the pipe, one off the near post and the other off the crossbar.
Less than three minutes remaining in the open half, Meghan Hollmann found the low right corner, extending the advantage 3-0. Claire O'Sullivan capped the scoring unassisted at 68:38
