CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – Now that's a high five.
LeTourneau University's softball team ran its winning streak to five consecutive games, following a doubleheader sweep at Ozarks Friday. The YellowJackets won the first game, 2-0, and the second, 11-2. The two victories pushed LeTourneau (10-9, 9-8 American Southwest Conference) over the .500 mark.
The two teams will wrap up the three-game series 12 p.m. Saturday.
LeTourneau pitcher
Bailey Richey (6-2) won her third straight game, twirling a six-hit shutout in the opener. She matched a season-high with eight strikeouts, and allowed two walks. It was her second straight complete game shutout.
Hana Bonner's RBI single to right in the first inning spotted the YellowJackets all the support Richey needed.
Callie Poore added some insurance when she belted her second home run of the season – a solo shot in the fourth inning.
Poore and Bonner were both 2-for-3.
Isabella Tresca also went 2-for-3.
Lauren Wilking,
Mickenzie Murry and
Ashley Crawford all had a hit. Murry, Bonner and
Haley Claterbaugh each had a stolen base.
LeTourneau scored four runs in the fourth and five in the sixth to run-rule the Eagles (2-18, 1-15) in the second game.
The 11 runs matched a season high – this time in a victory. The Jackets' 16 hits also are a season high.
Poore went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBI, and Wilking was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI as the top eight spots in the Jackets lineup each hit safely. Poore singled in a run in the first, and doubled in another in the third. Wilking singled to the right side to drive in a run in the fourth.
Murry and Bonner each singled to left to drive in a run apiece, and Poore's RBI groundout gave the YellowJackets a 6-1 lead. Poore's single to left center drove in another run in the sixth. Crawford's single to center made it 8-2. Poore scored on an error, and Wilking doubled down the left field line to drive in two more.
Murry was 2-for-3 with her team-leading seventh stolen base. Crawford went 2-for-4. Tresca was 3-for-4 with a stolen base.

Alysa Torres and Bonner each had a hit.
Torres (2-1) allowed six hits, two runs and two walks, and struck out a season-high eight.
