Box Score CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – And just like that, the YellowJackets are sitting a little prettier.
LeTourneau University's softball team dusted off Ozarks, 9-3, Saturday to complete its second straight American Southwest Conference series sweep. The six straight wins vaulted the Jackets (11-9, 10-8 ASC) solidly into the middle of the pack in the ASC East Division, entering the final stretch of the regular season.
Mickenzie Murry went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, and scored two runs.
Callie Poore had a triple, a double, and drove in three runs.
Ashley Crawford hit safely in all three plate appearances, and drove in a pair, highlighted by her run-scoring double in the third.
Lauren Wilking was 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored.
The YellowJackets scored twice in the first, once in the third, and three times in both the fifth and seventh innings.
Poore's RBI triple in the first gave the Jackets a 1-0 lead. She scored on Crawford's run-producing single in the next at-bat. Poore ripped a two-run, two-bagger in the fifth to break a 3-3 tie. Crawford's base knock one batter later, and
Isabella Tresca's sacrifice fly gave LETU a 6-3 lead.
In the seventh, Bonner belted a double to score Murry, who singled, and stole second to open the inning. Crawford delivered again on a 1-3 count, singling home Bonner two batters later. Tresca had an RBI double in the next at-bat to pad the YellowJackets' lead to six.

Jade Merrell (2-2) retired the Eagles (2-19, 1-16) in order in the seventh, getting the last two batters on strikes to earn the win.
Bailey Richey went 3 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks. Merrell worked the final 3 2/3 innings of shutout relief, without allowing a hit, and walking two to close the door. Both YellowJackets pitchers had three strikeouts. Merrell retired the last eight batters she faced.
Emilee Anderson singled in the second inning.
LeTourneau will play a three-game series at No. 10 Belhaven Friday and Saturday.
