LONGVIEW, Texas –
Syed Zain registered LeTourneau's lone goal in a 6-1 loss against Concordia (Texas) Thursday at the Joyce Family Athletics Complex.
In the league opener for both squads, the Tornados (3-3-1) built a 5-0 edge before Zain's second marker of the season.
Santi De La Torre picked up his second assist of the season with 10 minutes left
when Zain finished off a corner.
CJ Leyva thwarted the visitor's offensive barrage and kept LeTourneau (3-4-0, 0-1-0 ASC) in the match in the first half, allowing just one goal on 17 shots.
Melvin Molina fired Concordia's first attempt just 2:37 into the second half past Leyva, notching the eventual game winner.

Despite being peppered by shots and the defense on its heels, LeTourneau's defense held tough and bent but did not break as the clock moved into the final 20 minutes.
Â
Christian Barillas broke through the defense and made the edge 3-0 at the 70:11 mark and added two more before Zain's tally. Zack Kusack struck in the 77th minute and Leo Lopez made it 5-0 two minutes later. Victor Gomez closed the scoring in the final minute of play.
