Women's Soccer Falls at Home to Concordia

LONGVIEW, Texas -- The LeTourneau women's soccer team struck first in the opening half, but visiting Concordia tallied a pair of second-half scores to take a 3-1 win over the YellowJackets on Saturday afternoon at the Joyce Family Athletic Village.

LeTourneau (2-3-2, 0-2-0 ASC) notched the match's first goal in the 14th minute with a little help from the visiting side. On the attack, Drew Lessert played a through ball into the box intended for Terra Tucker running down the opposite side. A Concordia defender got the ball first and tried to play it back to the Tornados' keeper, but instead played it into the net for an own goal.

Concordia (4-2-3, 2-0-0 ASC) found the equalizer in the 17th minute. Patricia Heckendorn tied the match at 1-1 with her goal, assisted by Kaley Kaspar.

In the second half, the Tornados took the lead for good and then added an insurance goal late. Palynn Pyterek scored in the 70th minute as she cleaned up an initial shot from Emily Mowrer that glanced off the left post to give the Tornados a 2-1 lead. In the 82nd minute, Pyterek scored from long distance to make it 3-1.

Kiersten Reeser made five saves in her 90 minutes at the net for LeTourneau, while Lora Tresco made two for Concordia.

Tucker led the YellowJackets with two shots, while Krenz had a match-high five for the Tornados.
