Olivas' Game-Tying Goal Nets Draw for Women's Soccer

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. -- Michelle Olivas' goal in the 88th minute tied the match and gave the LeTourneau women's soccer team a 1-1 draw on the road at Ozarks on Saturday afternoon.

LeTourneau (2-6-5, 0-4-3 ASC) remains in position to snag a berth into the ASC Tournament with two regular season matches left. The draw was the third straight for the YellowJackets.

Trailing by a goal late in the second half, the YellowJackets broke through with a much-needed score. Camryn Robbins possessed the ball into the attacking half and slid a pass to Gabriella Sanchez who found Olivas near the top of the box. Olivas played a touch around a defender and knocked in her shot past Ozarks keeper Grace Houchin for the goal.

The score was Olivas' first of the year, while Robbins and Sanchez collected assists on the play.

Ozarks (2-9-3, 1-4-2 ASC) struck first in the 38th minute. On a free kick, Halley Wheeler snuck her attempt past the LeTourneau keeper for the score, her second of the year.

LeTourneau put three shots on frame in the opening half, but was turned away each time by Houchin.

It was another strong defensive effort from LeTourneau. Kiersten Reeser made three saves in nearly 76 minutes of work, while substitute Abby King made one save as she played the final 14 minutes of the first half.

Brandy Moran led the YellowJackets with three shots. Houchin made four saves for Ozarks.
