LONGVIEW, Texas – LETU's bid to knock off No. 15 UMHB fades in the second half Monday at Solheim Arena.
The YellowJackets dropped to 10-7 overall, including 7-5 in American Southwest Conference play holding onto fifth in the league. The four schools ahead of LETU have been ranked or receiving votes all season long. The Crusaders improved to 18-2,15-0.
Malacia Guy led the YellowJackets with 12 points, adding three assists and a steal. Ajanae dropped in 10 points, grabbed nine rebounds, rejected one shot and handed out one helper.
Keauna Whitfield chipped in 10 points, with five boards, one assist, one block and one assist.
Kiara McElroy tallied five points and five rebounds.

Allaira Jones logged playing time.
Guy finished in the paint at the 5:48 mark in the third quarter, pulling the YellowJackets within two at 32-30. UMHB outscored the home side 25-7 over the final quarter and a half, cruising to the victory.
A 6-0 spurt aided the Cru build their largest advantage in the opening 20 minutes at 12 with 5:59 on the clock. LETU clawed back to within four at intermission by scoring 11 of the final 14 points.
The YellowJackets continue their homestand Thursday at 5:30 p.m. against McMurry.
