Callie Poore recorded two hits in LETU's loss in the series opener against Howard Payne Friday.
With the 7-1 result, the YellowJackets fell to 6-15 overall, including 3-10 in American Southwest Conference play. This was the Yellow Jackets fourth win in 21 games, including 1-12 in league action.
Macy Clevenger tallied the lone marker for LETU. Trailing 7-0, she led off the frame with a single and later crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly off the bat of
Madelyn Tannery.

Laney Taylor started the game in the circle for the YellowJackets and surrendered just one run through the first three innings but a pair of singles and back-to-back doubles by HPU in the fourth ended her day. The home squad tallied six runs in the frame, with Taylor charged with four.
Jade Merrell replaced Taylor in the circle and allowed two runs on two hits and a walk, with a couple strikeouts over the final 2.1 innings
