LONGVIEW, Texas – The LeTourneau men's basketball team took care of business against the visiting Ozarks winning, 85-68, as the YellowJackets continued rolling with its fourth straight conference win on Thursday night at Solheim Arena.
LeTourneau (7-8, 4-4 ASC) trailed once in the game and that would come from an opening basket from the visiting Eagles, that lead would diminish quickly from a Warren Richardson free-throw and a Deonte Jackson 3-pointer putting the YellowJackets on top 6-2 with 17:44 remaining in the first half as LeTourneau would never look back.
LeTourneau would later extend their lead to 23 from an Ian Schafer 3-pointer with 1:05 remaining in the first half.
The YellowJackets would open the second half with a 16-7 run starting with a Richardson layup and finishing with an Argue jumper to give LeTourneau their largest lead of the game 29, 67-38.
Christian Adams led the way for the YellowJackets with 18 points and a throwdown jam to extend the LeTourneau lead to 22, 55-33 with 19:04 left in the second half. Richardson added 17 points of his own to go along with three slams, his last one coming in style. Jackson Mayes added 11 points and John Argue contributed 10 points.
LeTourneau dominated in the paint scoring 60 points in the paint compared to a visiting Eagles 36 and feasted off the bench taking control of bench points 32-8. The YellowJackets would finish the game with an Addison Culver bucket with 1:41 remaining.
Ozarks was led by Grayson Nix with 17 points, Tylan Jackson with 16 points and Josh Ukpe contributed with 13 points.
