LONGVIEW, Texas -- The LeTourneau women's basketball team outscored visiting St. Thomas by seven in the final period to pull away for a 53-45 victory in non-conference play on Monday night inside Solheim Arena.
Haylee Jordan notched her eighth double-double of the year with 19 points and 13 rebounds to go with three blocks and three steals to lead LeTourneau (4-8).
Kylie Weeks added 16 points and three assists.
LeTourneau is now 4-1 this season when limiting opponents to fewer than 60 points.
The YellowJackets held the lead for over 37 minutes of the contest, but held just a one-point lead (37-36) heading into the fourth quarter. A Jordan layup with 4:33 left in the period extended the YellowJacket lead to 48-41 and LeTourneau went 10-of-14 at the foul line over the final 10 minutes to seal the win.
Jordan finished 9-of-20 from the field and pulled down five offensive rebounds. LeTourneau held a 44-27 advantage on the boards and totaled eight second-chance points on 15 offensive rebounds.Â
Madelyn DeLosSantos added five points and one of LeTourneau's two made 3-pointers on the night.
Ganae Gaines doled out four assists and
Allie Buchanan contributed five points and seven rebounds.
LeTourneau led 23-17 at the break after finishing the second quarter on a 6-0 run, capped by Jordan's layup assisted by Buchanan in the waning seconds of the period. St. Thomas made just 5-of-21 over the first two periods.
For the game, LeTourneau shot 35.7 percent (20-of-56) from the field, but limited St. Thomas to 32.6 percent (15-of-46).
St. Thomas (4-8) was led by 14 points from Ravyn Ellis and 13 from Nia McGee.
