A Dominant Win for Men's Hoops

LONGVIEW, Texas -- The LeTourneau men's basketball team dominated all 40 minutes against Howard Payne in a 106-69 victory on Thursday night inside Solheim Arena.

The YellowJackets shot 59.7 percent from the floor and put up a season-high of 14 3-pointers. LeTourneau (10-12, 7-8 ASC) took care of business, winning by their biggest margin on the year and keeping themselves inside the top six in the ASC (the top six teams will make the postseason tournament).

LeTourneau came out of the gates with a fire lit beneath them with a 23-5 run in the first six minutes of the game. The YellowJackets went seven for nine from the field in that period, with multiple fast breaks including a Christian Adams to Deonte Jackson connection. The Jackets were all over the court when it counted the most with seven blocks as a team including a chase-down rejection from Adams. LeTourneau worked to maintain the lead in the first half as Caedmon Liebengood dropped 20 points in the first half going 6-for-6 from the field, three of them being 3-pointers. The YellowJackets continued to add to the highlight reel when Warren Richardson threw one down on a fast break.
LeTourneau took a 57-35 lead into the locker room, 24 points coming off of the bench.

There was never any doubt in the second period as LeTourneau continued to dominate on all ends of the court. The YellowJackets continued putting together fastbreak points including this alley-oop connection from Adams to Liebengood. The lead was extended to 37 at one point for the home team as Isaac Stolzenburg made a pull-up jumper with 10 minutes remaining. It was the largest lead of the night for the YellowJackets as they went on to win 106-69 over the visiting Howard Payne (3-20, 1-15 ASC).

Liebengood was perfect from the field as he put up 25 points along with three assists and three boards. Ian Schafer scored 10 points and had three assists.
