CLARKSVILLE, Ark. -- Battling cold conditions and a tough road matchup, the LeTourneau women's tennis team collected a key ASC win on Friday with a 5-4 victory at Ozarks in Clarksville.
The win snapped a six-match losing streak for LeTourneau (4-7, 1-1 ASC), but more importantly gave the YellowJackets a leg up in ASC Tournament aspirations.
Elizabeth Moreau,
Clara Brisman, and
Kylie Weeks each collected two wins on the day to lead LeTourneau.
LeTourneau grabbed a 2-1 match lead with a pair of wins in doubles play. Moreau and Brisman outlasted Lea Terrell and Emily Saniseng at the No. 2 spot for an 8-6 victory. At No. 3, Weeks and
Amber Van Duyn were 8-2 winners over Kelsey Smith and Erika Jones.
Moreau then easily handled Terrell in singles play as she took a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the No. 2 flight. At No. 4, Brisman took down Smith 6-3, 6-3 before Weeks notched a 6-3, 6-1 win over Jones at No. 6.
In her first week with the team, Weeks went 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles play. Moreau's win in singles was her team-leading fifth of the year.
