LONGVIEW, Texas -- The LeTourneau men's tennis team could not overcome visiting Concordia Texas in an 8-1 loss in non-conference action at the Davis Tennis Courts on Saturday.
The match was a non-conference bout as only ASC East Division matches count towards league standings. LeTourneau drops to 3-5 on the year.
Concordia (5-2) surged ahead 3-0 with a doubles sweep after narrowly taking the top flight.
Julian Lee and
Zach Farris battled the Tornados' Joshua Bode and Adrian Munguia before falling in a tiebreak 8-7(5).Â
In singles, Farris notched the lone point for the YellowJackets. He took down Andres Padilla in a long three-set match 7-6(9), 5-7, 10-7. The win was Farris' seventh overall in singles and sixth in dual matches on the year.
Lee took on nationally-ranked Bode at the No. 1 spot and played right with the 19th-ranked player in Division III before falling 6-4, 6-3.
Alex Barrero also had a tough match at the No. 4 spot before he fell to Jorge Garcia 6-4, 6-0.
UP NEXT
LeTourneau is off until March 16 when the YellowJackets travel to face Ozarks (10 a.m.).
