MARSHALL, Texas -- The LeTourneau women's tennis team concluded its ASC regular season slate with an 8-1 loss at East Texas Baptist on Tuesday afternoon.
LeTourneau (5-8, 2-2 ASC) was playing its first match since March 25 after weather forced the postponement of the ETBU match by over a week.
The doubles portion of the match was tight throughout, but ETBU squeezed out two wins to gain a 2-1 lead heading into singles.
Elizabeth Moreau and
Megan LeBlanc combined for a point for LeTourneau with their tiebreak win 8-7(3) over Jayde Childress and Grace Malone at the No. 2 flight.
ETBUÂ (12-5, 3-0 ASC) sealed the win with victories at all six flights in singles.Â
Moreau battled Childress at the No. 2 spot before falling 6-4, 6-3.
Emma Boulanger also faced a tough challenge in Andrea Alvarez at the No. 3 position and fell 6-3, 6-2.Â
UP NEXT
LeTourneau's scheduled match on Friday at St. Thomas was postponed last week with no make-up date announced. The ASC Tournament opens on April 27 at the No. 1 West seed.
