HOUSTON, Texas -- The LeTourneau women's tennis team fell at St. Thomas, 7-2, in the regular season finale on Monday in Houston.
LeTourneau (5-9) will turn its attention to the ASC Tournament next week. The YellowJackets, seeded No. 3 out of the East Division, will take on No. 2 West seed Concordia Texas on April 27 at 10 a.m. in Abilene in the quarterfinal round.
On Monday, LeTourneau fell behind 2-1 after doubles play.
Emma Boulanger and
Kylie Weeks combined for an 8-0 win at the No. 3 spot over Regina Lopez and Aimee Tran to keep the YellowJackets in striking distance.
Megan LeBlanc was responsible for the YellowJackets' point in singles action. LeBlanc earned her first singles win of the year with a 6-1, 6-1 defeat of Jenny Reynolds at the No. 5 position.
St. Thomas (4-6) took the remaining five singles contests to earn the win. Weeks had a tight first set with Ella Mullins at the No. 3 flight before falling 6-4, 6-2. At No. 6,
Amber Van Duyn lost in a tiebreak in the opening set and lost to Lopez 7-6(1), 6-4.
