Women's Soccer Runs Win Streak to Five

LONGVIEW, Texas -- The resurgent LeTourneau women's soccer team made program history on Tuesday as the YellowJackets collected a fifth straight win and fifth consecutive shutout with a 2-0 victory over Centenary in non-conference action at the Joyce Family Athletic Village.

LeTourneau (5-1-2) broke a program record for longest winning streak and most consecutive shutouts with the win. The YellowJackets ran their shutout streak to 497:50 of game action and picked up the sixth clean sheet of the season.

Jordan Williams scored two first-half goals to lead the way offensively. It was the freshman's third multi-goal match of the season as she ran her tally to six for the year.

LeTourneau got on the board with Williams' first strike in the 15th minute. Off Williams' corner kick, the ball stayed inside the box and Williams came back to possess and then rocketed a shot off the crossbar and into the net for a 1-0 lead.

In the 26th minute, Williams scored again. Gabriella Sanchez started the attack as she played a perfect ball to Brandy Moran who slotted a pass to the top of the box where Chanel Kemball-Cook one-touched to Williams for the score.

LeTourneau dominated the match from start to finish as the YellowJackets held a 26-3 shot advantage. Several of those opportunities nearly found the back of the net, including two near-misses from Sanchez. It was the seventh time in eight matches this season the YellowJackets outshot their opponent.

The scoring output was more than enough for the defense. Abbey Gallant made her first career start and spent 45 minutes at the net without needing to make a save. Kelauna Cruz came on for the final 45 minutes and made one save.

LeTourneau has surrendered just two goals this season.

Madison Ersoff made eight saves for Centenary (1-6-2) in the loss.
