LONGVIEW, Texas-- The LeTourneau men's basketball team suffered an 83-70 loss to visiting Concordia on Thursday night.
LeTourneau (11-8, 6-5 ASC) was led by
Deonte Jackson who scored 24 points.
Christian Adams was close behind with 18 on the night.
Adams contributed a pair of highlight-reel dunks in the first half, one of which came on a fast break in alley-oop fashion from Jackson.
The YellowJackets started the game off going 0-for-8 from the field and 0-for-5 from the three-point arc before
Teigan Edwards tallied the first bucket for the Jackets to make it 4-2.
Concordia (8-10, 5-5 ASC) carried a 12-5 run over the next five minutes to take a 16-7 lead.
LeTourneau surged right back on an 18-1 scoring run after Adams and Jackson both drained 3-pointers making it a 25-20 YellowJacket lead.
Concordia went on to level it at 31-31 with a minute to play and Adolfo Martinez drained a buzzer-beater to give the Tornados a 3-point advantage going into the locker room.
Concordia found a 14-7 run out of the break to secure a 10-point lead over the hosts. In that run, Donovan Stafford scored eight of the fourteen points on the way to his total of 21 for the night.
LeTourneau brought the deficit back to six points with an
Alex Ferrell triple to make it just 52-46 with 13:13 to play.
The Tornados were able to grow the lead to as big as 19 despite the YellowJacket efforts.
LeTourneau shot 40.6% from the field and 33.3% from 3-point land. Concordia was 45.8% from the field and 44.0% from beyond the arc.
