Liebengood and Jackson Combine for 49 Points in Men's Basketball Victory

WILMORE, Ky. -- Caedmon Liebengood and Deonte Jackson combined for 49 points to propel the LeTourneau men's basketball team to back-to-back road wins. Playing in their second game of the Zweifel-Pritchett Classic on Saturday afternoon, LeTourneau took care of business defeating Centre with a final score of 83-69.

The victory moves LeTourneau to 2-1 on the year, while with the loss Centre drops to 2-2 on the year.

Connor Miller opened the game with the hot hand for the YellowJackets knocking down a pair of 3-pointers in the first five minutes of the game. Aiding LeTourneau in opening the game with a 20-9 run, forcing Centre to burn a timeout in an attempt to get a handle on the momentum.

However, the timeout had no affect on LeTourneau as they continued to display dominance in the first half. Leading for 19 minutes of the first half LeTourneau ended the first half up 39-29. Leading the YellowJackets in first half scoring was Liebengood who notched 14 first half points.

The dominance continued on the second half as once LeTourneau took the lead early in the first half they never gave it back. Showing they were the better team from start to finish.

Putting on a brilliant display of second half scoring Jackson tallied 19 of his 24 points in the second half.

Continuing to show incredible discipline LeTourneau finished both games on this road trip with single-digit turnovers with five in their game against Asbury on Thursday evening, and just nine in this Saturday afternoon game against Centre. A big reason they finished the road trip with back-to-back victories.

The leading scorers for LeTourneau were Liebengood with 25 points going 10-of13 from the field, 1-of-2 from 3-point rage, and 4-of-8 from the free throw line. Jackson was second with 24 points going 7-of-14 from the field, 3-of-5 from 3-point range, and 7-of-9 from the free throw line. Rounding out the top three in scoring was Walker Blaine. Blaine scored 13 points, going 5-of-10 from the field, 1-of-2 from 3-point range, and 2-of-2 from the free throw line.

As a team LeTourneau shot 28-of-56 from the field (50 percent), 9-of-19 from 3-point range (47.4 percent), and 18-of-26 from the free throw line (69.2 percent).
