CONWAY, Ark. -- The LeTourneau volleyball team finished with a split in their final weekend of regular season play. Falling in five to Hendrix, and dominating Rhodes with a sweep in their final regular season match.
LeTourneau opened the day with a five-set loss (24-26, 25-22, 14-25, 25-20, 15-7) to host Hendrix.
Kaci Monk had 15 kills with a .353 hitting percentage and four aces in the defeat.
Allison Smith added seven kills and two blocks, while
Kaylyn Taylor had nine kills and 11 digs.
Nora Lockhart and
Dylan Presley recorded eight kills apiece.
As a team, LeTourneau had 55 kills with a .201 hitting percentage.
Reina Lawson had a double-double with 26 assists and 12 digs, with
Grace Talkington adding 18 assists.
LeTourneau took the opening set, 26-24, as the YellowJackets held off a Hendrix rally. The host Warriors tied the set at 24 apiece, but consecutive errors from the home side gave LeTourneau the win.
After dropping the second set, LeTourneau had its best offensive output in the third. The YellowJackets hit .467 in the frame with 15 kills to coast to a 25-14 win.
Hendrix (9-17) rallied back for a fourth-set win and then pulled away from LeTourneau in the fifth to take the match.
Riley Brady had 15 kills to lead Hendrix, while Adilynn Henry had 29 assists and Mary Addisyn Stubbs 29 digs.
LeTourneau bounced back in their second match of the day, defeating Rhodes in three sets (25-15, 25-22, 25-18).
Taylor had 11 kills and a service ace in the victory. Monk added eight kills, Dylan Pressley contributed eight kills with a .333 hitting percentage.
Morgan Nix led the way defensively coming up with 18 digs, Taylor also made a major impact defensively recording 11 digs.
Reina Lawson was one dig short of having a double-double in both matches notching nine digs and 17 assists. Talkington recorded 13 assists in the sweep.
The YellowJackets posted 46 kills as a team with a .322 hitting percentage.
