DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The LeTourneau women's basketball team concluded its trip to the Daytona Beach Shootout with a 74-49 loss to DePauw on Saturday morning at the Ocean Center.
The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for LeTourneau (5-8). It was the first meeting all-time between LeTourneau and DePauw (5-4) in women's basketball.
Future Asevedo had a team-high 15 points on five 3-pointers and
Kylie Weeks added 11 points with three 3-pointers.
Sallie Moser had a pair of 3-pointers and scored a season-high nine points.
The YellowJackets tied a season-high with 11 made 3-pointers, but could not overcome the defensive pressure from DePauw. LeTourneau connected on 38.1 percent (16-of-42) from the field and 11-of-25 from deep in the loss.
LeTourneau was making its first appearance in the state of Florida since the 1994-95 season.
DePauw used a 7-0 run to grab a 17-8 lead in the first quarter and led 19-11 entering the second. LeTourneau got within four (28-24) midway through the second quarter after an 8-0 run was capped by a Weeks 3-pointer.
DePauw answered with a 9-0 spurt to finish the quarter to go ahead 37-24 at the break and led by double-digits the rest of the way.
DePauw was led by 17 points from Moira McGinley and 10 points and sevens teals from Ava Hassel. The Tigers made 47.2 percent (25-of-53) from the field and 19-of-23 from the foul line.
