Women's Hoops Routs Biblical Studies, 61-36

HOUSTON, Texas -- Three players scored in double figures and the LeTourneau women's basketball team got back into the win column with a 61-36 victory at College of Biblical Studies on Tuesday night.

LaTerra Satcher recorded her first career double-double with 13 points and a career-high 13 rebounds to go with three assists and two steals. Mariana Espinosa added 12 points with six rebounds and five steals, while Future Asevedo had 10 points and five rebounds.

LeTourneau (2-6) led for all but the first 33 seconds of the game against the upstart Ambassadors (0-5) in their second year of the program. The 36 points allowed were the fewest in a game for LeTourneau since Jan. 25, 1999 (W, 70-36 vs. Southwestern Assemblies of God).

Makenzie Covey's jumper on LeTourneau's first possession of the game started a 10-0 run for the YellowJackets. Satcher had four points during the run and LeTourneau never trailed in the contest.

The lead stretched to 20 (31-11) at the half as Asevedo converted a conventional three-point play following a steal from Espinosa in the final 30 seconds of the period.

The lead never got below single digits the rest of the night and the 25-point margin at the end of the game was the YellowJackets' largest of the night.

Covey finished with a career-high nine rebounds to go with three points. LeTourneau held a 53-51 rebound advantage.

LeTourneau forced 24 Biblical Studies turnovers and scored 23 points off those giveaways. Biblical Studies shot just 24.2 percent (15-of-62) from the field and 17.6 percent (3-of-17) from 3-point land.

Alyssa Lowe had 19 points to lead Biblical Studies, while Kennedy Moore had 15 rebounds and six blocks.
