LONGVIEW, Texas -- The LeTourneau women's tennis team opened the home slate with an 8-1 victory over Oklahoma Wesleyan on Friday afternoon at the Davis Tennis Courts.
LeTourneau moves to 2-1 on the year with the victory.
The YellowJackets picked up two default wins as Oklahoma Wesleyan (0-2) traveled five players. In the other seven matches, LeTourneau flexed its collective muscle.
Megan LeBlanc and
Grace Rogers took down Jewel Henderson and Madeline Henderson, 8-4, at the top flight in doubles.
Isa Casso and
Elizabeth Moreau were 8-2 winners at the No. 2 flight over Nancy Henderson and Nikola Aleksic as the YellowJackets took a 3-0 lead into singles.
Rogers, Casso, and Moreau all took wins in singles play as well.
Rogers moved to the No. 1 spot and claimed a 6-2, 6-1 win over Nancy Henderson. Casso downed Jewel Henderson in three set 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 for her victory at the No. 2 spot, while Moreau was a 6-3, 6-0 winner over Aleksic at No. 3.
Anatole Hurta capped the victory with her 6-0, 6-1 win over Aliza Hayes at the No. 5 flight.
UP NEXT
LeTourneau hosts McMurry on Saturday in a non-conference match (10 a.m.).
