Women's Tennis Wins Twice in Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The LeTourneau women's tennis team picked up two wins on its Spring Break trip to Hilton Head, which concluded earlier this week.

LeTourneau (5-6) earned wins over Coe and Greenville as the YellowJackets played five matches overall.

The YellowJackets collected win No. 1 with a 5-3 victory over Coe on March 9. 

LeTourneau went up 2-1 after doubles as Megan LeBlanc and Grace Rogers took an 8-2 win at the No. 1 spot before Anatole Hurta and Clara Brisman Taylor were 8-5 winners at the No. 3 flight.

In singles, LeTourneau got wins from flight Nos. 3-5 to take the win. Isa Casso was a 6-4, 6-2 winner over Alliandra Hagness at No. 3, while Elizabeth Moreau earned a 6-2, 6-1 win over Chloe Palmer at No. 4. Hurta ended the match with her 4-1, 4-2 victory at No. 5.

On Tuesday, the YellowJackets took down Greenville by a 7-2 final.

LeTourneau took two points in doubles play as the combinations of LeBlanc and Rogers along with Taylor and Hurta won doubles matches. LeBlanc and Rogers won 8-2 at the top flight, while Taylor and Hurta were 8-3 winners at No. 3.

The YellowJackets then took five of the six singles matches. Rogers won 6-4, 6-4 over Addison Brannon at No. 2 and Casso was a 6-2, 2-6, 10-4 winner at No. 3 over Lanie Carder. Moreau defeated Emily Buratovich at the No. 4 spot, 6-0, 6-1. Hurta earned a three-set win over Natalia Higashi 6-3, 4-6, 10-4 at the No. 5 spot while Olivia Clark defeated Evie Johnson 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6.

LeTourneau had a pair of tight losses to John Carroll (5-4) and Asbury (5-4) along with a 6-3 defeat to Lake Forest.

LeBlanc and Rogers had an 8-6 win at the top spot in doubles against John Carroll, while Hurta and Taylor also took an 8-2 victory in their match at No. 3. Rogers won 7-5, 6-2 over Sarah Sgambati at No. 2 singles before Clark took a 6-3, 6-4 win over Caroline Chandler at No. 6.

In the 5-4 loss to Asbury on Wednesday, Casso and Brandy Weems won a tiebreak at No. 2 doubles, 8-7(3) to get the YellowJackets on the board. Casso also won at No. 2 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Martina Paillet.

Rogers took a 7-5, 7-5 win at the top singles flight over Arianda Zegarra. Clark battled for a three-set win at No. 4 over Fernanda Heredia 6-2, 4-6, 10-4.

In a 6-3 loss to Lake Forest on Monday, LeTourneau took two points in doubles play. LeBlanc and Rogers were 8-4 winners at No. 1, while Hurta and Taylor won 8-6 at No. 3. Rogers took the lone win for the YellowJackets in singles play with her 6-3, 6-1 victory over Kristen Ahn at No. 2.

LeTourneau returns to Texas and opens the ASC slate on March 20 at UT Dallas (4 p.m.).
