Women's Tennis Opens ASC Play with Loss to No. 38 UT Dallas

RICHARDSON, Texas -- The LeTourneau women's tennis team opened ASC play on Wednesday afternoon with an 8-1 loss at No. 38-ranked UT Dallas.

It was the conference opener for both LeTourneau (5-7, 0-1 ASC) and UT Dallas (2-3, 1-0 ASC).

The YellowJackets took the top flight in doubles play to cap the early portion of the match. Megan LeBlanc and Grace Rogers continued their stellar play as the top tandem with an 8-4 victory over UT Dallas' Rebecca Jackson and Saumya Vedula.

Together, LeBlanc and Rogers improved to 11-4 overall on the year and 9-3 at the top flight in dual matches.

In singles, LeBlanc took on the nationally-ranked Jackson and went toe-to-toe with her. Jackson outlasted LeBlanc, though, for a 7-6(5), 6-4 victory as the Comets swept the singles portion of the match.

Olivia Clark played Elyssa Ducret to three sets before falling 3-6, 6-4, 10-5 at the No. 6 spot.

UP NEXT

LeTourneau returns home on March 28 to face Howard Payne (2 p.m.).
