RICHARDSON, Texas --
Zach Farris and
Chase Rogers continued their strong run in doubles, but the LeTourneau men's tennis team fell to UT Dallas, 8-1, in the ASC opener for both teams on Wednesday afternoon.
Farris and Rogers had the lone point for LeTourneau (3-7, 0-1 ASC) at the top flight. The duo bested UT Dallas' Andres Gonzalez and Nathan Qi by an 8-5 final.Â
The win was the third straight for the duo and moved them to 9-3 on the season overall, including 8-2 at the top flight in dual matches.
In singles, Farris battled with nationally-ranked Gonzalez at the No. 1 spot before ultimately falling 6-4, 6-1. Gonzalez is currently ranked No. 31 in the nation.
Rogers was bested in three sets by Qi 3-6, 6-3, 10-4 at the No. 2 spot.
At No. 3 doubles,
Timothy Black and
John Lewis put up a challenge with the Comets' Snehin Yerragudi and Noah Sam before falling by an 8-3 final.
UP NEXT
LeTourneau returns home on March 28 to face Howard Payne (2 p.m.).
