BELTON, Texas -- The LeTourneau softball team lost a close one at Mary Hardin-Baylor, 2-0, on Friday afternoon.
LeTourneau (12-11, 5-4 ASC) looked to rally in the top of the seventh as Jaci Taylor came in to pinch-hit and got a hit. The rally was soon snuffed out by the Crusaders.
The YellowJacket defense held Mary Hardin-Baylor (11-11, 5-7 ASC) to just five hits and two runs on the day.
However, the Crusaders kept LeTourneau off the board as Eileigh Whyte pitched a shutout and a one-hitter.
Leighton Landreth drew a walk in the top of the second inning and was moved into scoring position but it was to no avail as no damage was done.
Lexi Hutchins was in the circle for the YellowJackets. Hutchins went 6.0 innings allowed five hits, two runs, none earned, and got two strikeouts.
