LONGVIEW, Texas --
Zach Farris and
Chase Rogers earned a win at the top doubles spot, but the LeTourneau men's tennis team could not overcome East Texas Baptist in an 8-1 loss in ASC action on Friday afternoon.
LeTourneau (4-10, 0-4 ASC East) got on the board with Farris and Rogers' tight win at the top flight in doubles.
The tandem outlasted ETBU's Sam Black and Max Karseno in a tiebreak 8-7(4) to collect a point for the YellowJackets. The win was the duo's seventh straight overall and moved them to 13-3 overall and 12-2 in dual matches.
ETBU (13-5, 3-0 ASC East) took the other two doubles matches and then swept its way to the win in singles play.
Farris had a tight match at the No. 1 flight in singles before falling to Karseno by a 7-6(4), 6-1 score.Â
John Lewis battled Slade Austin at the No. 4 spot before Austin took a 6-1, 7-5 victory.
Brayden Money challenged Erick Van Zyl at No. 6 in the opening set before falling 7-5, 6-1.
