SANDESTIN, Fla. -- The No. 15-ranked LeTourneau men's golf team concluded its fall schedule with a 10th place finish at the prestigious Golfweek October Classic, which ended on Tuesday at the par-71 Raven Golf Club.
LeTourneau, ranked No. 15 in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Top 25, moved up two spots in the final round to place 10th in a field of 24 teams. Seven teams ranked in the current top 25 competed in the tournament.
The YellowJackets shot a 3-under, 281 in the final round to finish with a 19-over, 871 (295-295-281). Mary Hardin-Baylor won the team title with a 5-under, 847. Wittenberg's Mitch Bolte was the medalist at 7-under, 206.
Rafa Torres had a final-round 4-under, 67 to move to a tie for 15th in the field. The freshman finished the tournament 2-over, 215 (76-72-67). Torres had eight birdies on Tuesday after he carded four on Monday and four in the opening round on Sunday. His 16 birdies tied for the lead in the 120-player field.
Kaiden Schneider finished tied for 37th with a 7-over, 220 (73-77-70). Schneider had one birdie and one eagle en route to a 1-under, 70 in Tuesday's final round. The senior was one of eight players in the tournament to record an eagle. He carded six birdies in the tournament.
Noah Summers had his best round of the tournament on Tuesday with a 1-under, 70 that included five birdies. Summers had a clean back-nine on Tuesday with four birdies and zero bogeys to end the round. The senior was tied for 44th with an 8-over, 221 (77-74-70) in the tournament.
Owen Prewitt (223, 74-75-74) and
Corbin King (229, 72-74-83) rounded out the LeTourneau golfers. Prewitt posted four birdies on Tuesday and had eight in the tournament. King had an opening-round 72 with three birdies on Sunday and finished with six across three rounds.
