LONGVIEW, Texas -- LeTourneau men's golf senior
Kaiden Schneider was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® team, announced the organization on Tuesday.
CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in their sport and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees (which includes golf student-athletes) in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Schneider, a senior from Bullard, Texas, earned All-SCAC honorable mention during the year and becomes a three-time CSC Academic All-District selection. The senior capped his decorated career with a 73.46 scoring average across 31.5 rounds. He posted 11 rounds of par or better and claimed six top-10 finishes with one win coming at the Goliath Compression Invitational in March. Schneider finished 13th at the SCAC Championships and tied for 43rd at the NCAA Division III Championships to help LeTourneau to 12th overall.
Schneider holds the LeTourneau career record for wins (5) and is second in career scoring average (73.94), while also ranking at or near the top in several program-record categories.
Schneider graduated with his degree in business accounting in May. He will be a four-time conference all-academic selection and has two GCAA All-America Scholar honors. Schneider was also a two-time ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete for men's golf.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-America® program students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA, compete in at least 70 percent of a team's tournaments or compete in the conference tournament, and be at least a sophomore academically.
