LONGVIEW, Texas -- The LeTourneau women's basketball dropped a close one inside Solheim Arena on Tuesday evening, falling to Centenary 55-50.
Centenary's (2-5, 1-0 SCAC) Amiyah Barrow sunk a corner 3-pointer with 0:42 seconds remaining to give the Ladies the lead and eventual victory.Â
LeTourneau was led by
Brooklyn Iman, who made most of her work at the charity stripe, securing 11 points on 7-of-9 from the line, and tacking on eight rebounds.
Following Iman was
Makenzie Covey with 10 points and five boards, and
Kylie Weeks with eight points, seven rebounds, and three steals.
Madeline Underwood made her collegiate debut, providing six points and a pair of steals off the bench.
It was a defensive battle in the first half, with the YellowJackets (1-5) holding onto a slim lead at halftime, 20-18.
LeTourneau took their first lead of the game when Iman banked an and-1 layup and converted at the line with 3:23 remaining in the second.Â
The entirety of the second half was a back-and-forth battle, as
Robbi Martinez's layup at the 6:15 mark in the third gave the YellowJackets the largest lead of the game at five.Â
LeTourneau held a four-point lead with 1:59 remaining, but the Ladies closed out the game on a 9-0 run to take the win.
Centenary was led by Nakalyn Wells with 11 points and five steals, and Barrow secured 13 points.
