The YellowJackets and Comets were battling for majority of the first half, but LeTourneau used an 8-0 run to jump out to a 10-point lead with 8:15 to go in the first half.
Connor Miller and graduate senior
Walker Blaine hit threes in this stretch.
LeTourneau would maintain the advantage throughout the rest of the half, with
Jackson Mayes' half-ending fadeaway from the baseline putting the Jackets up eight at half.
After the Comets went on a second half-opening 8-0 run to tie it, Liebengood untied it with a triple from the top of the key. Mayes then hit three consecutive jumpers to keep adding to the lead.Â
The YellowJackets took the reins from there, taking a double-digit lead late and allowing Jackson and Liebengood to get some warm rounds of applause as they exited the floor for the final time.Â
Mayes scored a game-high 21 points on 7-of-9 field goals in just 19 minutes, while
Logan Brinkoeter added nine points and nine rebounds off the bench.
