WACO, Texas -- The LeTourneau men's tennis team held off Texas Lutheran for a 4-3 win on Friday afternoon in Waco.
The match was a rescheduled contest from Feb. 14 which was rained out after a lengthy delay.
LeTourneau (5-7) got the doubles point after taking all three flights.
Zach Farris and
Fernando Vazquez earned a 6-1 win over Cash Herrera and Eric Moninger at the top spot, while
Andrew Reiman and
Diego Maldonado won in a tiebreak 7-6(3) over JT Figueroa and Kadon Sullins at No. 2.
Timothy Black and
Brayden Money made it a clean sweep in doubles with their 6-2 win over Logan Randall and Jackson Leslie.
Reiman moved up to the No. 1 flight in singles and defeated Herrera 6-0, 6-2 to put the YellowJackets up 2-0 in the match.Â
After Texas Lutheran (2-2) tied the match at 2-2, Vazquez gave the lead back to the YellowJackets with his 6-3, 6-4 win over Moninger at the No. 2 flight.
Maldonado then finished off the win with his three-set victory over Randall 1-6, 7-5, 10-4 to seal the match.
