LONGVIEW, Texas --
Isa Casso and
Kylie Weeks recorded singles wins, but it was not enough for LeTourneau women's tennis to defeat a talented Whitworth squad, as they came up just short by a 5-2 score.
The YellowJackets fall to 5-9, while the Pirates improve to 6-6.
Casso recorded her impressive win against Gracie Smyley in the No. 1 slot, winning 7-5, 4-6, 10-8, in a grueling matchup. Casso's competitiveness and winning mentality was on full display in the win.
Weeks was victorious over Olivia Corbett, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 5 singles, earning her seventh singles win of the campaign. Weeks has continued to be a real spark plug since fully rejoining the roster after basketball season concluded.
Elizabeth Moreau fell at No. 2 singles, 7-6 (1), 6-2 to Faith Kert, while
Emma Boulanger was upended 6-4, 6-0 at the No. 3 slot by Jordan Turner.
In No. 4 singles,
Maddie Nichol fell to Audrey Judson, 6-1, 6-3, and
Chloe Tesser was dropped at No. 6 singles by Morgan McArthur, 6-3, 6-3.
The YellowJackets were swept in doubles.
