PEARL, Miss. -- The LeTourneau baseball team fell to Belhaven, 16-2, in the final game of their weekend road trip.
The loss drops LeTourneau to 5-6 on the season, while Belhaven moves to 9-5 on the campaign.
The home Blazers jumped out to an early lead 4-1 first inning lead, which would ultimately be too much for the visiting YellowJackets to match, as the Blazers stayed in control for the remainder of the day.
Xander Nabors posted a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a walk.
Hayden Norris also put together a multi-hit effort, going 2-for-4 at the dish.
As a pitching staff, LeTourneau posted seven strikeouts.
Ryan Brewer started and collected two strikeouts, and then the bullpen had the other five: one for
Camden Miller, one for
Clayton Holt, one for
Brooks Bishop, one for Jackson Breedlove, and one for
Frank Maestri. Brewer (0-1) was assigned the loss.
For Belhaven, Tristan Pearson had a 4-for-5 day at the plate with two RBIs, with JD Weed adding three hits with a pair of RBIs. Colton Sylvester (1-1) got the win for the Blazers, firing seven innings and giving up two runs, striking out three.
