ARLINGTON, Texas -- The LeTourneau men's tennis team closed the regular season on Monday night with a 6-1 win over Howard Payne at the Arlington Tennis Center.
The match was a rescheduled one from April 5 in Brownwood. LeTourneau closes the regular season 8-10 overall and 1-3 in ASC play.
LeTourneau took the point in doubles play by winning all three matches.
Zach Farris and
Fernando Vazquez were 6-4 winners over Nicolas Gates and Riley Harker at the top flight.
Andrew Reiman and
Diego Maldonado earned a 6-2 win at No. 2 over Parker Hoel and River Prado, while
Timothy Black and
Hayden Harry took a 6-3 win over Michael Woodard and Gabriel Keeney-McCollough at the third flight.
LeTourneau then took five of the six singles matches to finish the win.
Farris and Vazquez both took straight-set wins. Farris knocked off Gates at the top flight, while Vazquez defeated Harker at No. 3.
Reiman defeated Woodard 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 2 spot. LeTourneau also took a pair of three-set matches. Maldonado outlasted Hoel at No. 5, 3-6, 7-6, 1-0 and Black was a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 winner over Noah Baiani at No. 6.
