Falber Notches First Win as Women's Soccer Blanks Central Baptist

CONWAY, Ark. -- The Karrigan Falber era starts with a bang.

LeTourneau women's soccer scored five goals and the defense held strong as the YellowJackets (1-0-0) blanked Central Baptist (1-1-0) in Conway, 5-0.

Falber, in her first season as a head coach after a three-year stint at Montreat as an assistant, pushed all the right buttons, earning her first career head coaching win.

Five different LeTourneau players scored during the match, highlighting the depth assembled by coach Falber and her fearless assistants Nicole Graubard and Callie McKinney

Lana Whiteman, the freshman from Benton, La., began the scoring for the Jackets with her 13th minute goal, the first of her collegiate career. Chanel Kemball-Cook added the assist.

The rest of the half remained scoreless, as the LeTourneau defense did a stellar job, holding Central Baptist to just one shot.

The second half was a different story, as Reagan Parks opened the half with a shot on goal less than two minutes in, but Rebecca Vandenburg was able to stop it. The Mustangs countered with a shot on goal of their own, but freshman keeper Kinsey Fulks was up to the task.

Kemball-Cook would notch goal number two in the 61st minute, and Shelby Smith would get into the action in the 70th minute with her goal off an assist from freshman Saige West.

Natalie Alvarado contributed her two cents in the 72nd minute with her solo goal effort, the first of her career, and then Brandy Moran would bring the final knockout punch with her goal (86') to make the final 5-0.

Fulks, the freshman from Frisco Texas, recorded two saves in her first collegiate game between the pipes, earning the shutout.

Vandenburg and Avery Mulloy split the time in goal for the Mustangs, collecting seven saves between them.
