JACKSON, Miss. -- LeTourneau women's soccer posted their second consecutive shutout as the defenses battled to a 0-0 draw in Jackson.
Only six shots were attempted in the game between LeTourneau (1-0-1) and Belhaven (1-0-1), as both teams' defenses played excellently throughout.Â
Freshman goalkeeper
Kinsey Fulks posted her second shutout in as many collegiate games played, helping the YellowJackets post back-to-back shutouts for the first time since the 2023 season.Â
The Blazers attempted to draw first blood almost six minutes into the first half, but Fulks was up to the job, making the save on the shot to the five-hole.
Brandy Moran nearly answered back 34:57 into the first half, firing a shot to the bottom middle, but Belhaven keeper Ella Field was able to stop it.
Sarah Wyatt added the second shot for the YellowJackets in the 62nd minute, but her attempt to the bottom right corner was just stopped by Field.Â
Fulks didn't blink in the second half either, stopping three shots in the final 15 minutes of the half, including two off the foot of Micah Benson in a 39 second span.Â
The draw between the two teams was the third consecutive draw in the all-time series.
YellowJacket defenders
Avery Gortney,
Clarissa Martinez, and
Sophia Merjil played all 90 minutes, playing a huge role in the shutout effort, while
Michelle Olivas added 90 brilliant minutes from the midfield spot.Â
