VENTURA, Calif. -- Kinley Pessel continued her torrid start to the season with her second straight tournament title and the LeTourneau women's golf team placed in a tie for fourth at the California State Intercollegiate, which concluded on Tuesday at the par-72 Olivas Links.

Pessel ran away from the field with a 2-under, 70 on Tuesday to finish the tournament at 3-under, 141 (71-70). She becomes the first LeTourneau golfer to win two tournaments in a season since 2009-10 (Leslie Lee). Pessel also tied her own program record for 36-hole tournament score of 3-under -- a mark she set in the season-opening Energy Weldfab Tempest Intercollegiate.

Pessel was flawless through the first nine holes on Tuesday as she carded two birdies and seven pars. She added two birdies over her final nine, including one on her 18th hole, to secure a 2-under, 70 and medalist honors. She finished four strokes ahead of Cal Lutheran's Kaylie Hesse.

The junior had eight birdies in the tournament and has 18 for the year.

As a team, LeTourneau shot a 310 on Tuesday to finish with a 616 (306-310) to place in a tie for fourth overall with Whitman. Cal Lutheran took the team title with a 589 (290-299).

Emerson Swanner shot a career-best 4-over, 76 on Tuesday to finish the tournament with a 154 (78-76). The 10-over score was Swanner's career-best in a 36-hole tournament. Swanner had three birdies on Tuesday and finished in a tie for 19th.

Hannah Newell had a 157 (76-81) for the tournament and finished 23rd. Lexie Cannon carded a birdie in the final round and had a 36-hole score of 164 (81-83) to place 37th. Halle Carr carded an 86 on Tuesday to finish at 172 (86-86), while Avery Streetman had a final round 85 as she finished with 171 (86-85) playing as an individual.
