Volleyball Defeats Ozarks for Fourth Consecutive Sweep

LONGVIEW, Texas -- LeTourneau volleyball kept the train rolling on Saturday, sweeping the Ozarks Eagles 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-22) in Solheim Arena.

This win makes the YellowJackets victorious in four straight, all of which being sweeps, along with marking the best 14-match start for head coach Alison Williams in her time at LeTourneau (10-4, 2-0 SCAC).

The LeTourneau attack replicated what it's done all season, spreading the love in the kill department. Six different YellowJackets garnered six or more kills in the match.

Kaylyn Taylor led the team with nine kills, followed by Emily Mullin with seven (.333) of her own. Nora Lockhart and Ashlyn Walther hit .417 and .462, respectively, with six kills apiece. Logan Lear and Emma Smith rounded out the six-kill club.

Mullin tacked on 13 assists with three service aces, while Hailee Perry led the YellowJackets with 18 assists and three service aces as well.

The first set saw an absolute battle, with neither team holding a lead of more than three points.

With the YellowJackets on the ropes, 22-19, the team put together five straight points to force set point.

An attempted answer from the Eagles (3-6, 1-2 SCAC) would be denied as a right-side slam from Mullin would be too much to handle, and LeTourneau would take the set 25-23.

In the second set, Ozarks would jump out to an early 6-2 lead, but a six-point run answer from LeTourneau would give them a lead they would not relinquish.

Though the final set was close, the lead was still LeTourneau's from whistle-to-whistle. The match was iced by a Smith cross-court push, giving LeTourneau the final set 25-22.

Arianna Gomez notched a double-double for the Eagles, with 16 kills and 10 digs.
