Men's Soccer Wins Last Conference Road Game Over Crusaders

IRVING, Texas -- The LeTourneau men's soccer team won its last conference road game of the season over the Crusaders.

LeTourneau moves above five hundred in the SCAC with its 2-0 victory over Dallas Sunday afternoon at Crusader Field.

The YellowJackets won their third straight against Dallas (5-7, 2-4 SCAC) and picked up a key win for the team's position in the SCAC standings. LeTourneau (7-6-1, 3-2-1 SCAC) will host their final three matches as they push for a second straight Conference Tournament appearance.

The YellowJackets started the match with a very aggressive approach, notching 13 shots in the first half alone. Eventually, LeTourneau found a way to the back of the net in the 28th minute. Karsten Guerra scored his third goal of the season, and Caleb Nelson notched his second assist of the season to give the YellowJackets a 1-0 lead.

LeTourneau kept up the pressure in the second half with another nine shots in the period. In the 67th minute, Nelson crossed a ball into the box and found Leandro Ferreira, who netted his team-leading fifth goal of the season with his right foot to give the YellowJackets a 2-0 lead.

This is the third time in his career that Nelson has recorded a multi-assist game. Nelson also had two assists in last year's 6-0 rout of Dallas.

Edson Camara Martinez was dominant in goal for LeTourneau. Camara Martinez notched his ninth career shutout while also making seven saves. Kabe Bylaw played nearly the whole game for Dallas before a late injury. Prior to leaving the game, Bylaw made 14 saves and played 88 minutes.

The win was pivotal for a LeTourneau squad that now gets to return home and host their final three matches.
