SEGUIN, Texas -- LeTourneau women's soccer saw it's six-match win streak come to a close at Gustafson Field on Friday night.
The YellowJackets (6-2)Â opened SCAC play at Texas Lutheran, with the host Bulldogs (7-3) emerging with a 3-0 victory.Â
The loss -- LeTourneau's first in nearly a month -- came to a Bulldog team that captured the SCAC regular season title a year ago, and haven't lost a conference match in almost two years.
Despite the defeat, LeTourneau added to it's history books in the process, extending the consecutive shutout streak to 510:55, second-longest in program history.Â
Natalie Alvarado gave the YellowJackets an opportunity to have an early lead, firing a long-ranged missile during a counter attack in the 2nd minute that was bobbled but ultimately saved by Texas Lutheran's Alysa Marquez.
Alvardo secured three shots on frame in the contest, whileÂ
Chanel Kemball-Cook recorded LeTourneau's only other shot on goal.
Texas Lutheran earned the game-winner in the 40th minute from a set piece after a diving save by
Kinsey Fulks -- one of her career-high 15 on the night -- set up a corner.
Alejandra Lopez placed a perfect ball into the box, allowing for an easy tap-in by Noelani Ajel to give the Bulldogs a lead they would not relinquish.
The Bulldogs tacked on two more goals in the second half, the first coming in the 55th minute when a Kristina Cromwell cross found Emma Alvardo right in front of the net, and Natalia Cortez scored the nightcap in the 67th.
