COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Colorado College flexed its muscle as the Gold Division champions defeated the LeTourneau women's basketball team, 82-53, on Sunday afternoon inside Reid Arena.
Robbi Martinez poured in a game-high 16 points, including 4-of-4 from 3-point land, to lead LeTourneau.
Sallie Moser added nine points and
Kaylin Cervantes had eight points with four rebounds.
Kylie Weeks (five points, three rebounds) and
Makenzie Covey (two rebounds) competed in their final games as YellowJackets.
LeTourneau hit a season-high-tying eight 3-pointers in the loss and connected on 47.1 percent (8-of-17) overall from long range.
The YellowJackets scored the first five points of the game as Moser drained a 3-pointer and Cervantes connected on a jumper with 7:38 left in the first quarter. Colorado College finished the period on a 20-0 run to take a 15-point lead (20-5) at the end of the quarter.
LeTourneau opened the second quarter on an 8-0 run with 3-pointers from
Taylor Brown and Weeks to trim the deficit to 20-13 with 8:23 remaining. Colorado College used a 17-0 run over the next six minutes to extend the margin to 24 (37-13) after a 3-pointer from Kayla Mackel.
Mackel had 12 points and five rebounds for the hsot Tigers, while Illiana Garcia had 16 points with six assists off the bench. Avery Johnson led all players with 11 rebounds.Â
LeTourneau shot 35.5 percent (22-of-62) from the field, while the Tigers connected on 48.4 percent (31-of-64) with 11 3-pointers.
LeTourneau finishes the season 5-20 overall and 2-14 in SCAC play. Colorado College (20-5, 15-1 SCAC) will be the No. 1 seed from the Gold Division in next weekend's SCAC Tournament in Conway, Ark.
