SEGUIN, Texas -- LeTourneau softball was unable to score against a dominant No. 8-ranked Texas Lutheran pitching performance, falling 6-0 on Saturday at Ed Kruse Stadium.
LeTourneau 3-8 (3-6 SCAC) was held to just four hits in the series finale against the Bulldogs (10-1, 8-1 SCAC).Â
Jenna Carter went 1-for-3 with a double, while
Maddie Flanery,
Kylee Davis, and
Laynie Davis managed a hit apiece.
Brooke Bubert (1-4) took the loss in the circle, allowing six runs on seven hits through all six innings.
Texas Lutheran was held out of the scoring column until the third inning, until Caelee Clark scored following a stolen base to make it 1-0 Bulldogs.
LeTourneau allowed another run in the fifth inning when Clark scored on a double from Taylor Vannett.
The Bulldogs poured it on in their final trip to the plate, scoring three in the bottom of the sixth to make the score 6-0.
Davis would single to lead off the seventh, but the YellowJackets wouldn't be able to mount a comeback.
Katelyn Howard (8-0) tossed the shutout for Texas Lutheran, striking out eight while only walking two.
Clark went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a pair of runs at the plate for the Bulldogs.

LeTourneau will travel to Concordia Texas for an SCAC series next weekend (March 6-7).
