LONGVIEW, Texas -- The LeTourneau baseball team returned home on Tuesday night and fell to East Texas Baptist, 14-3, at Conrad-Vernon Field.
It was the second meeting this season between LeTourneau (12-12) and East Texas Baptist (16-7).
ETBU used an eight-run second inning and take a commanding lead and tacked on runs from there to collect the win.Â
Jack Kale and
Cody Brady each had two hits for LeTourneau, while
Seth Hudson and
Jonah McDaniel had RBIs in the loss. Hudson had a bases-loaded walk in the second inning to put the YellowJackets on the board, while McDaniel drove in Kale with an RBI single to center field in the fifth.
Connor Massimini went 4-for-5 with two home runs and seven RBIs to lead ETBU. The Tigers totaled 10 hits, including six extra-base hits.
Colt McDowell (0-1) made his first start of the season. LeTourneau used six different pitchers out of the bullpen with
Brooks Bishop going the longest at 2.2 innings allowing just one runs on one hit.
Brayden Hodge (2-1) picked up the win for ETBU as he tossed three innings in relief.
UP NEXT
LeTourneau heads to Oregon for a four-game series at Linfield, starting with a doubleheader on Friday (3 p.m. central/1 p.m. pacific).
