ROUND ROCK, Texas --
Kinley Pessel captured her fourth win of the year as LeTourneau women's golf finished second in the Linda Lowery Invitational title at the par-72 Teravista Golf Club on Tuesday.
LeTourneau finished 59-over 635 (310-325) in the 36-hole tournament, finishing just five strokes shy of the winner, East Texas Baptist. The YellowJackets were one of seven SCAC teams in the tournament, finishing 14 strokes ahead of third-place St. Thomas.
Pessel carded an 8-over (76-76) on the 36-hole tournament. On Monday, the junior collected two birdies, shot a 1-over 37 back-nine, and at one point recorded par of better on 11 straight holes. Pessel finished with four birdies after another strong performance on Tuesday to clinch the medalist honors.
Emerson Swanner sat T1 after her round on Monday, carding a 4-over 76, which featured two eagles. After knocking in her first on hole 11, Swanner chipped in her second eagle on hole one, etching her name into the LeTourneau record books. Swanner becomes the first player in program history to record two eagles in the same season -- let alone tournament or round -- and with three career eagles, now has the most in program history.
