Women's Tennis Can't Overcome ETBU

LONGVIEW, Texas -- LeTourneau women's tennis fell 6-1 to East Texas Baptist in a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon.

Anaiah Smith had the lone point for the YellowJackets (7-5) with her win over ETBU's (8-6) Krysten Dunn in the No. 4 flight of singles, forcing a third-set tiebreaker and a 2-6, 6-3, 10-0 victory.

Smith went 2-0 on the day, as she and Maddie Nichol bested Dunn and Jazmyne Ford-Schartner at the No. 2 doubles line, 6-4.

However, after taking the No. 1 flight, ETBU earned the doubles point as Lindley Vickers and Emmy Phillips fell to Amelia Anding and Fernanda Ruiz Burkart by a score of 6-2.

The Tigers clinched victory when Ruiz Burkart defeated Chloe Tesser at the No. 3 singles line, 6-4, 6-1.
