HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The LeTourneau women's tennis team opened its spring break trip to Hilton Head with a 7-0 victory over Gordon on Saturday morning.
It was the third straight victory for LeTourneau (3-1). It was also the third time the two programs have met in Hilton Head since 2019, with LeTourneau winning all three.
The YellowJackets took the doubles point and won all three matches. The top duo of
Kylie Weeks and
Chloe Tesser -- the reigning SCAC Doubles Team of the Week -- outlasted Gordon's Lucille Belval and Makayla Otey in a tiebreak 7-6(2).
Maddie Nichol and
Anaiah Smith defeated Amanda Kim and Gianna Hallam, 6-2, at the No. 2 flight and
Lindley Vickers teamed with
Emmy Phillips for a 6-3 win over Emma Tiemens and Abigail Smith at No. 3.
Weeks continued her undefeated start to the season in singles with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Belval at the No. 1 flight. Nichol was a 6-1, 6-4 winner over Otey at No. 2.
Tesser earned a 6-0, 6-1 win over Amanda Kim at No. 3, while Smith won 6-3, 6-3 over Hallam at the No. 4 spot.
LeTourneau rounded out the victory with wins at No. 5 and No. 6. Phillips took care of Tiemens 6-2,6-3 at No. 5 and Vickers was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Smith at No. 6.
